Dr. Matthew T. Weaver is an associate professor and chair of the Department of Psychology at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. His scholarly interests include behavioral and neurobiological processes of drug abuse and impulsivity. He is a strong advocate for undergraduate research and is the Director of the Laboratory of Addictive and Impulsive Behaviors. Honors for Dr. Weaver include the 2013 APA: Division 25 Young Researcher Award and the 2009 APA: Division 25 Basic Dissertation Award. Dr. Weaver has been active in Divisions 2, 25, and 28. APA leadership positions include the Division 28 Program Chair (2015), Division 25 Membership Chair (2010-2016), and Division 25 Member-at-Large (2019-2021). Dr. Weaver is a member of the Steering Committee Chair for the Western Pennsylvania Undergraduate Psychological Consortium since 2015 and served as the chair from 2015 to 2023. Dr. Weaver earned his B.S. from Allegheny College, his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Florida, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh before joining ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø in 2012.
